My Current Favorite Pochade Box

This box is 5" wide x 6" long x 2.5" deep. It holds a 4"x5"x1/8" panel. The box is built out of the same 1/8"masonite as the panels I paint on with 1/4"x2.5" poplar boards. I bought the materials at Home Depot. My palette is linseed oil impregnated masonite. That is the dark panel. Under the pallet a small bottle of thinner. Six 37ml tubes of paint, White, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian and Cadmium Yellow (Pale). I've found I can create almost any color from a combination these. A home made thinner cup and holder. The cup is made from an old cut down pill bottle. The holder is made of the same 1/8" masonite. Three small brushes and a little device I use to keep the top at a 45 degree angle. See the images below.
